Hillview is a brilliant example of rich, urban renewal with an ‘intercultural focus’. The Hub brings people together to build connections and learn about each other’s cultures.

The Hub is already establishing a reputation as a welcoming space with a diverse array of activities that showcase Canning’s cultural diversity from language classes, cultural events, social groups, topical workshops, symposiums to business forums and mentoring.

The City of Canning received grants from the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) program, the State Government of Western Australia, Lotterywest and RAC’s Reconnect WA initiative to deliver Hillview Hub.– an exciting place to connect, play and celebrate our diverse community.

Canning is one of Western Australia’s most multicultural and diverse communities with 50% of residents born overseas and nearly 40% of residents speaking a language other than English at home, so it is really important for us to have a place where people from all backgrounds can come together. Here at SpacetoCo we LOVE working with community partners that are achieving so much for the community - we wish them all the very best in the Awards!
