About Us
Our Story
SpacetoCo connects communities through simplifying venue bookings. We do this by providing local government, community centres and housing associations with enterprise level software to help reduce repetitive admin and challenges when it comes to managing the venue hire process. We also provide a local venue marketplace so that hirers can find the right space for them.

How it started
Our History
What does our company have to do with getting married in a backyard, Shark Tank and AirBnB?
Our story begins in November 2015. After getting married in his backyard, Jeremy Hurst had an idea of sharing spaces at his Perth Hills property. People could use his garden for a small wedding, those without a pool, home office or a bbq could share one and so on. Jeremy then started a basic Wordpress site and came up with the name ‘SpacetoCo’ with an emphasis on community.
With a young family and a full-time job, Jeremy realised SpacetoCo was bigger than one person, so he reached out to Daniel McCullen and Daniel Franco for help to grow this idea into a startup. All three agreed to become co-founders and after many late nights, weekends and invested savings, SpacetoCo launched in March 2017. Soon, the company grew to hundreds of space listings, and the three co-founders had the chance to appear on Shark Tank Australia in June 2018.
Over in New Zealand, Elle Bell was building her own space sharing platform. After learning about SpacetoCo, Elle decided collaboration would be better than competition and teamed up with the company to launch SpacetoCo NZ not long after.
SpacetoCo continues to expand with partnerships in local government, housing associations and community centres, delivering a sustainable solution to space sharing and online bookings.
Why we exist
Our Purpose
Sustainability
We believe that there are plenty of spaces and it’s not always necessary to build more. Utilising existing assets more efficiently and making it easier to access spaces leads to a more sustainable future.

Supporting Local Economies
We believe in driving growth to local area economies. Providing access local spaces stimulates activity within towns and localities. We believe that when local economies thrive, communities come to life.
